Blue Roof
by Norbert Blei
Dogs hang in trees
tonight,
cats spark from
chimneys,
cows float upon
the creamy waters
of last summer’s creek,
red roosters rise
from the snowy fields . . .
I sit naked with you
on my blue roof,
gathering soft
black birds
between your legs,
licking the moon
out of your eyes.
