The
Mirror

It
is not my vanity
which
keeps the mirror.
Not
my daughters
brushing
their hair
before
it, nor my son
laughing
to see himself
reflected. The mirror
holds
up the only map
of
the days which remain to me –
and
I need to be reminded
how
far I still must go.
